Sign in to DoubleSpace

Go to doublespace.io/login and enter your email. You'll receive a 6-digit code — no password to create or remember.

Create a free Cloudflare account

If you don't already have one, sign up at dash.cloudflare.com/sign-up. It's free — no credit card required.

Cloudflare's free tier includes 10 GB of R2 storage, 1 million Class A operations, and 10 million Class B operations per month.

Create an R2 bucket and API token

In the Cloudflare dashboard, go to R2 Object Storage → Create bucket. Name it something like yourname-doublespace.

Then go to Manage R2 API Tokens → Create API token. Select Object Read & Write, scoped to your bucket. Copy the Access Key ID, Secret Access Key, and Endpoint URL.

Configure R2 in DoubleSpace

In the desktop app, enter your R2 credentials on the setup screen. Or configure via CLI:

# Create a bucket in Cloudflare Dashboard → R2 → Create bucket
# Then create an API token: R2 → Manage API Tokens → Create

$ dblspc config set r2.endpoint https://<account-id>.r2.cloudflarestorage.com
$ dblspc config set r2.bucket my-doublespace-files
$ dblspc config set r2.access-key-id <your-access-key-id>
$ dblspc config set r2.secret-access-key <your-secret-key>

Download DoubleSpace for your operating system:

Or install the CLI via Cargo: cargo install dblspc

Start syncing

Choose a local folder to sync. DoubleSpace watches it for changes and keeps your R2 bucket in lockstep:

$ dblspc sync ~/documents /docs
  Watching ~/documents for changes...
  ✓ Initial sync: 47 files (12.3 MB)
  Local → R2 → every device. Continuous.

Install DoubleSpace on another machine with the same R2 credentials and the files appear there automatically.

Mount as a drive (optional)

For seamless access, mount your cloud storage as a native drive:

# Windows — appears as D: in File Explorer
$ dblspc mount /docs D:

# macOS — appears in Finder sidebar
$ dblspc mount /docs ~/DoubleSpace

# Linux — appears in your file manager
$ dblspc mount /docs ~/DoubleSpace

The mounted drive supports read, write, rename, and delete — just like a local disk. Changes sync to R2 in real time.
